Who is Ryan Francis? Ryan Francis was an American basketball player, who was from Baton Rouge, La. He attended Glen Oaks High School and played ball there until he took his talents over to University of Southern California Trojan’s basketball team (USC).
Number 12 was his number. While playing in high school, Francis averaged 22 points and 5 assists per game. He also led his team to a perfect 36-0 record back in 2005, while also claiming the class 4A title in 2005. As far as his short career for the USC Trojan he was able to make the PAC 10 all freshman team, selected by the conference coaches.
The date May 13, 2006 would change Ryan Francis’ life and the ones who loved him forever. Around 3:30 a.m. in Baton Rouge, La., Ryan found himself being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Francis was riding around with friends when an SUV pulled in front of the vehicle carrying Francis and opened fire. The shooter was identified as then 19 year old D’Anthony Norman Ford. According to the police report, Ford pulled his SUV in front of Francis’ vehicle after noticing the driver as someone he had a problem with earlier that night. Francis was sitting in the backseat, where he was shot multiple times.
